The Green New Deal - Transit Group is organizing a campaign to make Winnipeg Transit better for everyone and needs volunteers to help. As a first step, we are currently conducting a survey to help identify the needs of transit users. We are seeking volunteers to distribute surveys and posters at bus stops around the city. Having more volunteers will help us reach a greater number of transit users.
Those interested in volunteering are invited to attend a 15 minute orientation session on October 26th at 6:30pm via Zoom.
Manitoba Energy Justice Coalition will be hosting an online volunteer orientation on Thursday November 4th at 7pm CST. Join us for a 90 minute session and learn about MEJC vision, mission, and values, our campaigns, and the work of our support teams.
Once you have joined the volunteer orientation you can choose to join MEJC campaign and support teams. MEJC meets virtually every Tuesday at 7pm online. We meet as a large group and then break out into our current campaign teams:
1) Promoting a Green New Deal
2) Solidarity with Indigenous Resistance to Fossil Fuels
3) Responsible Manitoba Hydro
New volunteers are always welcome! We know that it can be intimidating to come to an online meeting for the first time so we promise to make it as easy as possible. One of us will be there to answer any questions and help you get acclimatized.
