People over pipelines: Action against Kinder Morgan and Line 3

This event will take place on the traditional territory of Anishinaabe, Cree, and Nakota peoples, and the homeland of the Métis Nation.

Join us to take action in solidarity with Coast Salish peoples and others on the frontline resisting the Kinder Morgan and Line 3 pipelines.

On May 4th, community members will gather outside Jim Carr’s constituency office and participate in creative action to protest the Liberal government’s support for the Trans Mountain and Line 3 pipelines. The Trudeau government recently announced that it is prepared to spend $2 billion of taxpayer dollars to support the Texas-based company Kinder Morgan in building the Trans Mountain pipeline through Indigenous lands on the west coast. The Kinder Morgan pipeline was approved under a flawed National Energy Board review process - along with Enbridge’s Line 3 pipeline which passes through Manitoba - and both pose great risk to our communities, lands, and waters.

Join us May 4 to demand that our government put people before pipelines and profits. We are demanding that they respect Indigenous rights of the communities who have not consented to these pipelines, and listen to the tens of thousands of people across Canada who want their government to deliver on promises to protect water, fight for the climate, and renew a nation-to-nation relationship with First Nations.
