Manitoba is on fire. Record-breaking May heat waves, out of control wildfires, drought, evacuations. We’re experiencing the climate crisis in real time, and our governments are not moving with the urgency and scale needed.
Join us for a potluck BBQ and community discussion about the climate emergency. How is climate change impacting you? How can we work together to move our governments into action to keep our communities safe?
Where: Vimy Ridge Park, east side picnic tables
When: Friday May 30, 6:30-8:30pm
We will provide meat and veggie BBQ options (while supplies last).
Please bring a potluck side dish if you’re able to, as well as a plate & cutlery, and a blanket or camping chair.
Before the BBQ, we will be joining the monthly Critical Mass bike ride. If you’d like to join us for a bike ride around the city before the BBQ, the group will be meeting at Central Park at 5pm. You can find out more information @criticalmass.wpg on Instagram.
Bring a friend! Families are welcome. If you have any accessibility needs, please get in touch and we will do our best to make sure the event works for everyone!
